The Book is on the Table ~ September 2014

We set off in a Mercedes Sprinter van, soon becoming quite enamored with her- who we would later call “A Baleia” (‘whale’ in Portuguese). There were so many highlights: Commonground Fair and Neskaya dance center, visits to many different kinds of schools, organic farms, and centers of sustainability in New England.

We danced with children of all ages, old friends and new, in planned events and spontaneously, in every single place that we went. A dream came true- dancing with an amazing group on beautiful dance floors, in parking lots, shopping centers, schools, houses of friends, mountaintops…spreading joy and smiles and uplifting people wherever we went, and transforming ourselves along the way…

This was a wonderful tour, and the first of its kind! Our 2016 tour in Colorado and New Mexico was amazing as well!

An idea whose time has come!

The inspiration first came years ago to invite circle dancers from the south to the USA to experience the positive side that we have – artistic, holistic, sustainable, and conscious! From traveling in many countries over the years, it was clear that people who have not visited the USA cannot really imagine the healthy alternative cultures that exist but that are not covered in their media, nor in the USA’s media for that matter.

This group, mostly from Brasil, one from Maine/Germany, and one from Maine…discovered many kindred spirits along the way, and all of our lives are changed.

Circle Dance is a good way to really know that we are all in this together, regardless of nation or race.
